THE CRAFTSMEN AND CRAFTSWOMEN WHO WORKED ON THE NEWGATE STREET CLOCK
The following names are engraved on the reverse of the Newgate Street Clock coat of arms (shown above). They include Joanna Migdal, who was originally commissioned to design and supply the clock, George White, her husband, who worked with her on every aspect of the job, Virginie Caujolle-Pradenc, Project Officer (Street Scene) Planning and Transportation Department, City of London and Nick and Gretchen Smith, whose family firm Smith of Derby constructed the clock. Other names are Jim Foster and Kevin Litchfield of Smith's, who masterminded the design and construction work there and Phil Dickinson, David Hill, Ray Smith, Ian Inglis, Peter Bracey, Peter Lane, Chris Meakin, Chris Camm, Dave Longdon and Mike Fitchett who worked on the project. Also named are Brian Galsworthy, Stephen Tate and Robert Keay who etched the coat of arms and Andy Higgs who digitised Joanna Migdal's hand-drawn graphics with great accuracy.
